What is DSIP?
DSIP was identified in 1977 from the venous blood of rabbits induced into slow-wave sleep, giving the peptide its name even though its physiological role has since proven broader than sleep alone. It is a short, well-defined nonapeptide rather than a peptide mixture.
How it is understood to work
DSIP is thought to modulate delta-wave sleep architecture and to interact with the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, including corticotropin and luteinizing hormone release, and has shown antioxidant and stress-buffering activity in laboratory models. The precise receptor or binding target for DSIP has not been conclusively established, so much of its mechanism remains descriptive rather than fully mapped.
Research status
Research on DSIP spans sleep regulation, circadian biology, stress physiology, and pain-modulation models, largely in animal and in vitro systems dating back several decades. It has not progressed to an approved clinical product, and more recent literature on the peptide is comparatively sparse next to newer research compounds.

Lab testing
HK Peptide published a Janoshik #227959 report for this compound. Test: Purity & Content (HPLC). Result: 99.49% purity · 14.99 mg. Tested Sep 11, 2026. The vial tested was a different strength than this listing, so treat it as evidence for the compound and ask for the batch COA for this exact strength. Verification key JUPS6P1RUZ4T can be checked at janoshik.com.

Handling & storage
Supplied as a lyophilized powder; store unopened vials frozen and protected from light, and keep any reconstituted solution refrigerated, using it within the timeframe set by your study protocol.
Concentration check: adding 2 ml of bacteriostatic water to one 5 mg vial gives 2.5 mg/ml. The Research Lab calculator in your dashboard works this out for any volume.
Questions
Does DSIP actually induce sleep in every model tested?
Effects on sleep architecture have been reported inconsistently across studies and species, and DSIP’s naming reflects its discovery context more than a universally reproduced effect, so its sleep-related activity should be treated as an active research question rather than an established fact.
What should a COA for DSIP confirm?
Look for HPLC purity and mass-spectrometry confirmation that the sequence matches Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu, since a nine-residue peptide of this size is straightforward to verify by mass alone.
How much DSIP is in this kit?
10 vials of 5 mg each, so 50 mg in total. The lab testing section above shows what the brand’s tested vial actually contained.
