What is Survodutide?

Survodutide (BI 456906) is a long-acting synthetic peptide engineered to activate both the glucagon receptor and the GLP-1 receptor.

Mechanism of Action

GLP-1 receptor activity reduces appetite and improves glucose control, while glucagon-receptor activity increases energy expenditure and hepatic fat oxidation—an approach aimed at both body weight and liver fat.

Research Applications

Survodutide is studied in research on obesity and metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH).
