What is Epithalon?

Epithalon (Epitalon) is a short synthetic peptide modelled on epithalamin, a polypeptide extract of the pineal gland. It was developed in bioregulator research programmes investigating the biology of ageing.

Mechanism of Action

Epithalon has been reported to activate telomerase and support telomere length in cell models, and to influence pineal melatonin production and circadian rhythm. Additional studies describe antioxidant effects and modulation of gene expression.

Research Applications

Epithalon is used in gerontology and longevity research, including studies of telomere biology, sleep–wake regulation, oxidative stress and lifespan in animal models.

Storage & Handling

Supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder for maximum stability. Store unopened vials at -20°C, protected from light. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, keep refrigerated at 2–8°C and use within the timeframe appropriate to your study protocol.
