What is Kisspeptin-10?
Kisspeptin-10 is the C-terminal ten-amino-acid fragment of kisspeptin, encoded by the KISS1 gene, and retains the full receptor activity of the longer peptide.
Mechanism of Action
It activates the KISS1R (GPR54) receptor on GnRH neurones in the hypothalamus, triggering GnRH release and downstream secretion of LH and FSH.
Research Applications
Kisspeptin-10 is studied in research on puberty, fertility, the HPG axis and reproductive-hormone regulation.
