What is BPC-157?

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a 15-amino-acid synthetic peptide derived from a protective protein found in human gastric juice. It is notably stable in gastric acid, which distinguishes it from most peptides.

Mechanism of Action

Research suggests BPC-157 promotes angiogenesis via VEGFR2 signalling, upregulates growth-factor receptors, supports nitric-oxide pathways and modulates inflammatory responses. These effects are associated with accelerated healing of tendon, ligament, muscle and gut tissue in animal models.

Research Applications

BPC-157 is one of the most studied repair peptides, investigated in models of tendon and ligament injury, muscle damage, inflammatory bowel conditions, gastric ulcers and nerve regeneration.
