What is Testagen?
Testagen is one of the short peptide bioregulators developed by Vladimir Khavinson’s group in St. Petersburg, with the sequence Lys-Glu-Asp-Gly. It is the member of the family associated with the testes, sharing the Lys-Glu-Asp core seen in Vesugen, Livagen and Prostamax.
How it is understood to work
Like its relatives, it is proposed to act on chromatin and gene expression rather than through a hormone receptor. It is not a gonadotropin or androgen, and no receptor-level mechanism has been established.
Research status
Published work is sparse and preclinical, and independent replication is very limited. Research on reproductive hormone signaling with a strong evidence base generally uses established molecules such as hCG or kisspeptin.

Handling & storage
Supplied as a lyophilized powder; store unopened vials at -20C away from light, and keep any reconstituted solution refrigerated at 2-8C for short-term use.

Questions
Is Testagen a hormone?
No. It is a four-amino-acid peptide with no known hormone-receptor activity, unlike hCG or hMG, which act directly on gonadotropin receptors.
How close is it to Epitalon?
Epitalon is Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly and Testagen is Lys-Glu-Asp-Gly: they differ only in the first residue, which is why mass spectrometry matters for telling them apart on a COA.
