What is BPC-157?
BPC-157 is a synthetic sequence derived from a partial fragment of a protein naturally present in human gastric juice. Unlike most peptides, it retains structural stability in strongly acidic environments, which first drew research interest toward gut-related applications and later toward broader tissue repair.
How it is understood to work
Proposed mechanisms include promotion of new blood-vessel formation through VEGF-receptor pathways, modulation of nitric-oxide signaling, and effects on growth-factor receptor expression; these are drawn largely from rodent studies and have not been confirmed in controlled human trials.
Research status
The bulk of published research is preclinical, spanning models of tendon, ligament and muscle injury, gastric ulceration, inflammatory bowel changes and nerve injury in rodents. No BPC-157 product has completed human clinical trials or received regulatory approval, and its precise molecular mechanism is still debated in the literature.

Handling & storage
Supplied as a white lyophilized powder; store unopened vials at -20 C protected from light. After reconstitution with bacteriostatic or sterile water, keep refrigerated at 2-8 C and use within the period set by the study protocol.
