What is Tesamorelin?

Tesamorelin is a synthetic 44-amino-acid analogue of human growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH) with a trans-3-hexenoyl group added to the N-terminus. This modification increases resistance to enzymatic degradation while preserving full receptor activity.

Mechanism of Action

Tesamorelin binds pituitary GHRH receptors, stimulating pulsatile growth-hormone secretion and a downstream rise in IGF-1. Because it works through the natural axis, feedback regulation of GH release is maintained.

Research Applications

Tesamorelin is studied for its effects on visceral adipose tissue, hepatic fat, lipid profiles and body composition, and in research into GH-axis function and age-related metabolic change.
