What is Ipamorelin?

Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide ghrelin mimetic. It is considered one of the most selective growth-hormone secretagogues available for research.

Mechanism of Action

It binds the growth-hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a) in the pituitary and hypothalamus, stimulating GH release. Unlike earlier GHRPs, ipamorelin produces little to no increase in cortisol, prolactin or ACTH and has minimal effect on appetite in study models.

Research Applications

Ipamorelin is used in research on GH secretion, body composition, bone density, post-operative recovery and gastrointestinal motility, often in combination with a GHRH analogue.

Storage & Handling

Supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder for maximum stability. Store unopened vials at -20°C, protected from light. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, keep refrigerated at 2–8°C and use within the timeframe appropriate to your study protocol.
