What is IGF-1 DES?

IGF-1 DES is a naturally occurring form of IGF-1 lacking the first three N-terminal amino acids (Gly-Pro-Glu), giving a 67-amino-acid peptide.

Mechanism of Action

Removal of these residues sharply reduces binding to IGF-binding proteins, making IGF-1 DES substantially more potent than native IGF-1 in vitro, with a short half-life that favours localised activity.

Research Applications

IGF-1 DES is used in research on localised muscle growth, satellite-cell activation and tissue repair.

Supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder for maximum stability. Store unopened vials at -20°C, protected from light. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, keep refrigerated at 2–8°C and use within the timeframe appropriate to your study protocol.
